STRAUB-METAL-GRIP FIRE FENCE COUPLING
For use wherever fire protection is required by law
With over 40 million pipe connections worldwide, Straub pipe couplings has proven itself to be the best pipe-coupling product on the market available today. STRAUB FIRE-FENCE is the optimum solution for firefighting pipework, and for many piping systems with increased fire protection requirements. An intumescent jacket is securely fixed to the coupling externally. In the event of fire, the intumescent material expands rapidly, creating a protective insulation envelope from the fire temperature to preserve the coupling function.
The STRAUB-FIRE-FENCE system supplied by Mechanical Rotating Solutions is based on the STRAUB METAL-GRIP, STRAUB GRIP-L, STRAUB GRIP and options for STRAUB FLEX and STRAUB OPEN-FLEX. With ISO 19921 & ISO 19922, the STRAUB-FIRE-FENCE pipe couplings meet the IACS requirement for fire and temperature tests.
- Diameter 30.0 to 457.2 mm.
- Operating presure up to 67 bar.
- Temperature range +100°C-30°C.
The temperature ranges indicated are based on the use of EPDM sealing sleeves. EPDM and NBR sealing sleeves are used by default. Various coupling sizes also available with H-NBR sealing sleeves (Temperature range: -20°C to 125°C). All diameters and designs available plus accessories (strip inserts, stiffening rings, fitting pliers, tensioning straps) can be obtained from the technical manual.
As a South African agent of Straub products, Mechanical Rotating Solutions is able to procure, install and commission the right Straub connection, which will meet the project-specific requirements fully. Straub Couplings come fully assembled and ready to install. A torque wrench is the only tool required to do the job. Lightweight and with a low profile, Straub couplings are easy to handle and can be installed in the tightest of spaces. The unique lip seal design seals on even rough pipe surfaces. STRAUB couplings are used to join virtually any plain end pipe or tube including steel, stainless steel, ductile iron, FRP, PVC, CPVC, C900, concrete pipe, copper and CuNi piping.
